Toplane LoL tierlist patch 26.19 – Essential Pre-Worlds Update

Hey Friends,
Toplane lol tierlists for the patch 26.19 are ready!
Today we have a bit larger patch to cover than last time, but nothing major as we slowly roll into the Worlds 2026. On the other hand, pro play is extremely exciting right now! While we are patiently waiting for Worlds 2026 to start on the October 15th (Play-In, and main event on the 23rd.) and Demacia cup that invites all top teams that did not make it worlds this year (October 3rd).
There is also an ongoing “Worlds” for tier 2 League! Truly exciting time of the year for competitive League enjoyers. I’m happy to report that EU teams (MKOI Fenix, Solary and Gallions) are doing incredibly well at the WSCI (2026 World Star Challengers Invitational) and are bound for knockout stage. Best of luck to the teams!
Toplane lol tierlists have been updated according to the changes in patch 26.19! Notably, some teleport buffs that will help toplane be more impactful in pro play and solo queue, to some extent, and Riot’s attempt at dethroning Rumble’s pro play presence. Will they finally succeed?
Champion changes
Aatrox – Buffed
- W – Infernal Chains cooldown: 20 / 18 / 16 / 14 / 12 seconds ⇒ 18 / 16.5 / 15 / 13.5 / 12 seconds
- E – Umbral Dash heal ratio: 1.1% per 100 bonus health ⇒ 1.3% per 100 bonus health
- Very minor compensatory buffs due to sundered sky nerfs
- I implied a while ago that rushing sundered sky is not longer a good idea, these buffs just confirm it. Only go sundered sky as your 2nd or 3rd item if you really want to build it, though Shojin and Death’s Dance (probably a must build on 3rd or Sterrak, if going Eclipse 1st) outperform it statistically
- +- 0.3% win rate increase at best, probably net neutral
- remains A tier
Fiora – Buffed
- Health growth: 99 ⇒ 105
- R – Grand Challenge heal range: 550 ⇒ 600
- R – Grand Challenge heal per tick: 18.75 / 25 / 31.25 (+15% bonus AD) ⇒ 20 / 26.25 / 32.5 (+17.5% bonus AD)
- R – Grand Challenge maximum heal: 375 / 500 / 625 (+300% bonus AD) ⇒ 400 / 525 / 650 (+350% bonus AD)
- Fiora receives a buff that should help her “win more” when she manages to hit all 4 vitals during the ultimate. It should help her mostly in the side lane where trading hp creates pressure (buff is placebo for teamfights, but it can indeed be quite powerful if you do manage to pick off a target and provide huge team-wide healing)
- Build won’t change much, though you’re getting a bit more bank for your buck if you’re playing Conqueror with the AD ratio buffs- though PTA/HoB usually do a better job at snowballing through laning phase)
- + 0.5% win rate increase
- remains A tier
Nasus – Nerfed
- Q – Siphoning Strike bonus damage: 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 / 120 ⇒ 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 / 110
- Another small nerf to Nasus’s laning phase. The damage nerf is minimal considering most of your damage will come from stacking, but it will impact further his life stealing potential especially before first base, which will allow more champions to punish him harder
- minor nerf, -0.25-0.5% win rate decrease
- remains B tier (too niche of a pick, though powerful like an A tier champion)
Rumble – Nerfed
- Passive – Junkyard Titan, Overheat attack speed: 50 – 130% ⇒ 30 – 100%
- Passive – Junkyard Titan, monster cap: 65 – 150 ⇒ 90 – 175 (jungle compensation)
- Passive nerfed overall (early-late). This was basically the only un-nerfed part of Rumble this year and it will be quite noticeable as it was the main outlet to have kill pressure on your lane opponent. Check out the competitive tier list below for my verdict on competitive play
- big hit! Rumble will lose about 1% to 1.5% win rate, and he was already quite mediocre in solo queue
- Demoted to B tier
Volibear – Buffed
- Passive – The Relentless Storm, attack speed per stack: 5% (+3% per 100 AP) ⇒ 5% (+4% per 100 AP)
- Passive – The Relentless Storm, lightning on-hit damage: 11 – 60 (+45% AP) ⇒ 11 – 60 (+45% AP) (+20% bonus AD)
- Buffs to volibear passive will positively affect him throughout the game, providing some nice scaling for the later parts of the game while also providing small benefits to the early strong early game
- Volibear is an extremely versatile champion that can build almost anything, but one thing is clear with these buffs: hybrid is back on the menu, meaning that Doran’s Bow is a good starting item now, and Statikk Shiv is now a good 1st core item to build on the bear. Gunblade seems like bait at the moment (you want a bit of attack speed on the 1st item). Best builds seem to be Dusk and Dawn + Navori into tank or Shiv + Dusk and Dawn into Navori/Tank items and Terminus
- Volibear is eating good this patch. Win rate increase of 0.5-1% in higher elos (Diamond+) and up to 2% in the lower elo brackets!
- Promoted to top of B tier (A tier for lower elo brackets, same as Nasus)
Lillia – Buffed
- Base armor: 22 ⇒ 24
- R – Lilting Lullaby sleep duration: 2 seconds ⇒ 2.5 seconds
- This won’t bring Lilia toplane back, don’t waste time
Ryze – Adjusted (Nerfed)
- Armor growth: 4.2 ⇒ 4.7
- Q flux bonus damage: 25 / 50 / 75 / 100% ⇒ 15 / 40 / 65 / 90%
- E mana cost: 35 / 45 / 55 / 65 / 75 ⇒ 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 / 80
- Solid nerfs to Ryze overall, it will help out a bit in some matchup like Irelia with extra armor growth and other common top lane counter picks, but it’s a nerf nonetheless because Ryze top lane is mostly used as a niche counter
Aurora – Buffed
- E base damage: 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230 ⇒ 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240
- R rift duration: 1.75 / 2.5 / 3.25 ⇒ 2.25 / 2.75 / 3.25 seconds
- Small Aurora buff that won’t impact her much for top lane. Ever since Liandrys and rocketbelt got nerfed, she has not been the same on toplane, especially since most of her power budget is in the passive that requires a lot of ap to start dealing damage
System change: Teleport
- Top lane free Teleport cooldown: 420 seconds ⇒ 390 seconds
- Unleashed Teleport cooldown (top): 330 – 240 seconds ⇒ 300 – 210 seconds
- Great buff to toplane overall, so it can compete with the ADC role more fairly. If you’re not running TP, you will have a free teleport slightly more often now, which is a minor buff, yet appreciated nontheless. The bigger change is the unleashed teleport buffs that will allow toplaners, especially in pro play, to have impact on the map more often. This is a post laning phase buff – since unleashed teleport becomes available from minute 10 (keep in mind that you need to be playing teleport to have unleashed teleport)
Lucian – Buffed (solo lane +10-30 damage on Q per rank up)
Not much to say here- just a minor buff for solo lane if you’re the type of person that enjoys picking Lucian as a counter to Gangplank or Jayce- you might want to revisit this champion and give it a try, though it’s still not amazing.
Toplane lol tierlist 26.18 competitive overview
Yet another, somewhat stable patch that won’t alter the meta game that much with the Worlds 2026 just around the corner. Official patch for worlds will be 26.20 and I don’t expect Riot to do any major changes unless there are going to be massive outliers. It doesn’t seem to be the case as the meta game is quite versatile, especially when it comes to 5 games of fearless drafting.

Rumble, even with hefty nerfs this patch fulfills the AP neutralizer role better than any other champion in the game. Though there seems to be a meta shift on the horizon where we might end up seeing a bit more tank junglers, Lillia.. maybe even Elise and this does not help Rumble keep a spot in the toplane. He is valuable when AP champion is needed and you are looking to blind pick something safe that will go even or barely lose the laning phase while providing extra utility through the ultimate.
I’ve decided to demote Rumble a bit in the high priority with the asterisk that i’m expecting a slight meta game shift, meaning that Rumble’s core value won’t be needed as much. I will revisit this standpoint in 26.20 for the final conclusion after we see more balance changes. As long as Rumble pairs well with all the most played junglers in the meta game currently (j4, qiyana, vi, skarner…) he will continue to see play even with strong nerfs this patch.
With Yunara rising to the top of the pack in the botlane- this resulted in slightly lower Olaf priority (who was more common in the Ashe-Seraphine dominant meta.) Camille and other counterpicks started to show up as well, as stated in the previous post, which made Olaf naturally less valuable- though he is still seeing a high ban rate)
Tier list changes: no major changes, small adjustments within the tier- Ambessa highest priority. I was also very tempted to include Shen & Poppy in the low priority due to Ambessa’s rise in priority, but I will hold off until seeing the Worlds patch notes first.
Toplane lol tierlist 26.18 solo queue overview
Solo queue tier list continues to be quite stable with no major changes.

- Aatrox remains A tier
- Fiora remains A tier
- Nasus remains B tier (A tier for lower elos)
- Rumble demoted to B tier
- Volibear remains B tier (A tier for lower elos) – don’t sleep on him though, he’s genuinely quite good after these buffs. It’s just the nature of the champion that makes him not the best for higher elos
- I won’t be adding Lillia to the tier list (not good enough), Aurora stays A tier and Ryze and Lucian remain C tier.
- small corrections: K’Sante promoted to A tier now that ranged champions are quite mediocre (a lot of answers, especially in solo queue still exist- Gwen, Gnar, Camille, Fiora and so on). Shyvana promoted to B tier– I’ve undervalued this champion for a while, but she does surprisingly well into some of the less mobile champions or other melee champions she can stat check in the top lane.
