Toplane LoL tierlist patch 26.15 – NEW updates

Toplane lol tierlist 26.15 patch update is finally ready. Hope you’re enjoying the League Classic or a new PoE allflame league! In case you were wondering, I will not be committing to making League Classic tier lists as I don’t have much nostalgic interest in playing the game mode.
Top lane LoL tier lists have been updated according to the changes in the patch 26.15! We have a small patch to cover today with not many relevant long term changes, so let’s dig right in.
Mordekaiser got absolutely gutted this patch with the bugfix to his R and the walk back on R nerfs (lost over 3% win rate). Champion is basically not worth playing if you are a player above platinum in solo queue. He will definitely receive compensation buffs at this point.
Riven nerfs are the major change of the patch for all solo queue enjoyers. She has been overpowered for years it feels like at this point. She lost about 2% win rate and is now finally a balanced champion. Her all in window will be weaker now and it should be possible to survive it easier especially if you’re running the defensive Helm + Exhaust + boneplating setup when playing against her.
Sylas received a tap down to his Q damage (lost about 0.5% wr) – notably this won’t affect his placement in toplane as he will still be a very niche counter pick to champions like Gnar, Malphite or overall team compositions.
Maokai toplane got 10% more ap ratio on Q. Don’t bother, he’s still garbage in toplane.
Zac gained slightly above 1% win rate with these buffs(E CD, armor growth) making him a solid tank option once again especially in solo queue as long as you are picking him into playable matchups where you can’t be forced into an all in type of trade (eg Darius or something like that). Buff don’t seem amazing on paper but they help out with Zac’s playstyle- especially since the introduction of the Helm starting item which is still a bit too powerful at neutralizing a matchup. Moved him up in the tier list.
Volibear buffs seem nice on paper but statistically don’t seem to be doing much for the bear as his win rate didn’t move much. His position remains the same, where you could pick him into other melee champions that stat check other champions or struggle into beefy boys (eg trundle, sett, irelia, mordekaiser..)
Naafiri got some big nerfs to the R damage this patch aimed at jungle, but will also heavily impact toplane as well, as she was mainly as a counter to immobile squishy champions. Don’t expect to see her in toplane for a while from now on.
Jack of All Trades was a strong rune choice for a while now, so Riot decided to give it a light tap down. Notably, not many top lane champions used this rune, but it will slightly affect champions like Riven, Irelia, Fiora, Gwen, Shyvana and Volibear. It is still a very powerful way of boosting your stats in the early and later stages of the game if you are able to squeeze different stats into your build.
Terminus is now de facto a premier on hit scaling item in the game (crit equivalent of Infinity Edge) that some toplane champions like Kayle, Varus and Vayne might enjoy.
Bastionbreaker – not much to say about this item, i expect it to get removed from the game in the next preseason. Notably only junglers use it for extra burst damage, though it can be bought on Jayce if you are snowballing the game and have extra cash on your hands.
Toplane lol tierlist 26.15 competitive overview
Summer split has started for competitive teams and the meta game seems to have settled down a bit again until we see some major balance changes. While there are not many new champions added or removed to the competitive tier list I wanted to take the opportunity to talk about the priorities and pick/ban rates.
Jayce is the premier pick in the current meta game that can be taken into any matchup. Yorick is not what he used to be as a counter and Sion has pretty much evaporated from the competitive games after the recent nerfs. that leaves up only Olaf as a risky choice of counter pick that only works if the rest of the composition is also weak into him. Jayce is currently pick or ban for the most part, just care about junglers with globals(Pantheon,Nocturne) or VI/Jarvan who can punish you – or roaming supports like Camille who can cheese you from level 1.
Vayne is currently the 2nd most optimal ban choice for whichever toplaner is looking to blind pick as most players default to champions like Gnar, Ambessa, Renekton ,K’Sante and so on. Vayne pretty much does well into all of them.
Olaf is here to stay for a while as long as the meta game stays like this (lack of DPS from the botside). He can be an amazing silver bullet pick to counter entire team compositions.
Sion is no longer a recommended champion for the competitive play. Shen also removed due to heavy priority in the support role instead (as a counter to Camille flavor of the month)
Cho’Gath introduced as the potential neutralizer vs Jayce.
Rumble is still an amazing blind pick when the composition allows for an ap champion.

Finally a shake up in the S tier. Riven demoted to A.
Shyvana corrected to C tier, long overdue after the buffs a while ago.
Anivia promotion to S tier as the premier AP champion currently.
