Toplane LoL tierlist patch 26.17 – Finally Vayne Nerfs

Hey Friends,
Toplane lol tierlist 26.17 patch update is ready! We have a very minor patch to cover today with small corrections to the tier lists themselves.
Toplane lol tier lists have been updated according to the changes in the patch 26.17! Notably Vayne will finally leave the toplane meta for a while.
Cho’Gath gets flat 10 damage per E hit (x3) – solid buffs that will result up to 0.5-1% win rate which we are yet to see once we get a higher pick rate. Cho can notably answer a couple of champions well if he’s in a good spot balance wise, including: Sion, Jayce, Yorick. We could definitely see him show up more often in competitive as a counter pick. Just don’t blind pick this champions otherwise you will have a hard time against champions like Gwen, Fiora, Yone and so on..
Irelia gets a couple of AP ratio buffs that won’t be too relevant for solo queue unless ur bausffs (goat), but the Q 10% ad ratio is a very good buff especially for later stages of the game when Irelia usually falls off a cliff even if she gets insane leads in the early game- she is one of the best in the game at snowballing her own matchup, but tends to struggle into any team composition with CC- she will be an even bigger menace in solo queue after these buffs.
I expect her win rate to stay somewhat same, potentially with an increase of 0.5% overall, though you will feel the impact of Q doing ~5+ more damage per Q after finishing bork)
Nocturne has been a pro jungle staple for a while. Nerfs will push him even further away from toplane, though some lane bully champions in toplane will be happy to see him less often in their games.
Nasus loses flat 2% life steal to make him more punishable in the early game as he now gets to stack Q much faster. I expect him to lose about 0.5-1% win rate at best, with higher impact on the higher the elo you are. Nasus is still very much viable.
Trundle gets minor buffs to W attack speed- I don’t expect it to be enough to see it show up in toplane as a counter pick to Olaf or anything like that, though it will help Trundle jungle a bit more. No change in the tier list.
Vayne nerfs are definitely the biggest news of the patch 26.17. She now gets to Q 5 times in the laning phase before going completely out of mana (excluding the mana regen). I fully expect her to not see any play in toplane until she gets a mini rework that will hopefully result in her being more of an ADC than a toplaner. Q mana cost increased as well as losing % max hp damage on W.
Yasuo & Yone receive yet another buff with the reduction to the crit damage modifier from -10% to -5%. Riot’s favorite children keep receiving buffs when they really don’t need them, but here we are.
Sundered Sky gets another tap down nerf – you lose about 300 gold worth of stats if you’re still buying this item after these nerfs. Players might still buy it if there is no better alternative. Read my previous post if you’re interested in the impact of previous nerfs. I fully expected it to stop being bought as first item, but apparently Riot decided to push a bit harder in this patch.
Toplane lol tierlist 26.17 competitive overview
Vayne got absolutely obliterated this patch with the nerfs to Q mana and W.

How Vayne nerfs will impact the competitive play? Well, not much if we’re completely honest. We’ve reached the point of where Vayne was pretty much a must ban for any champion you were looking to blind pick in the current meta game, so it will just open up a ban slot for one of the sides. Vayne removed from the tier list.
Since the patch is quite small, let’s talk a bit more indepth about Olaf as the flavor of the month. Varus re-introduced as the Vayne substitute.
As expected, Camille is seeing some competitive toplane play as well after the recent buffs with mediocre success – with limited sample size she is doing well into Olaf, while players are also trying it into Gnar, Jayce and Ambessa. Matchups to avoid are going to be Renekton, Gwen, Jax.
What Olaf is doing well into: Jax (though I think a really good jax should be favored), everything else- Jayce, Renekton, other tanks/bruisers
What Olaf is not doing well into: Camille (small sample size-here and overall), Kled, Gnar (though it might be just variance-on paper its not that good), Anivia (small sample), Trundle (in lane/jungle- if the buffs are good enough for lane)
Build: Stormraiders into ranged champions,Conqueror into everything else. Inspiration is default secondary unless you play into Camille/Jax, Q>E>W skill order, helm/boots rush is a strong opener, with hexplate and stridebreaker as core items followed by DD/Sterrak. Flash/Exhaust into bruisers like Jax/Cami/Kled, ignite or ghost with flash into everything else. Dblade or Helm as the starting item.
Vayne, Gragas- replaced by Cho’Gath, promoted Jax to High Priority. added Varus as Vayne replacement.
Toplane lol tierlist 26.17 solo queue overview
Small adjustments to the tier list, quite stable from 26.16 to 26.17!

Vayne demoted to C due to harsh nerfs. Do not play until she’s buffed!
I rated Nasus a bit too conservatively in the previous patch, but I do believe current nerfs will bring him more in line, solidifying him at the top of B tier as a strong counter pick value champion. Though, if you are below emerald, this champion is easily A tier and potentially even S tier if you’re below gold solo queue ranking.
Nocturne demoted to D.
Overall readjusted some positions from left to right to be slightly more accurate but there is no clear logic in champion placement in the tier itself and will depend heavily on the changing variables from game to game (matchup, draft etc). This would be too complicated to display correctly visually without going indepth about single champion choices.
You can compare with the previous tier list here.
Until next time o7.
